Four years of FIRST Robotics — capped by the 2026 season as programmer and drive coach on a swerve-drive competition robot.

The Program.

FIRST Robotics Competition gives student teams six weeks to design, build, and program a competition robot from scratch — then run it against 30+ other teams on a field. Every season changes the game. Every match has real consequences. The 2026 season is the team's final competition, making it a capstone of four years of continuous development.

01
Swerve Drive Subsystem Full swerve kinematics implementation over CTRE Phoenix 6 motor controllers. Each module maintains independent azimuth and drive targets, with odometry fused from CANcoder absolute encoder readings for accurate field-relative positioning.
02
Field2d Pose Visualization Live robot pose rendered in Elastic dashboard using WPILib's Field2d widget. Drivers see real-time position and heading overlaid on the field map — critical for autonomous path validation and match strategy.
03
CANcoder & CAN Bus Diagnostics CAN bus health monitoring surfaced directly to the dashboard. CANcoder fault logging catches absolute encoder misconfiguration before it becomes a match-ending event — especially important on swerve where one bad module ruins drive capability.
04
Drive Coach Role Beyond code: serving as drive coach means translating field state into real-time strategy calls during matches. Prepared 2026 game-specific quiz material for the team to internalize scoring rules and alliance coordination patterns.

FRC Lineage.

The 2026 season builds on roots that go back to 2018 — the team's first year. That earlier work included AprilTag-based autonomous alignment, field-relative pose estimation, and PID-controlled shooter targeting. The 2026 robot formalizes that experience into a full swerve platform with production-grade telemetry.

Capstone.

2026 is the final season for Team 6908 Infuzed. Four years of iterating on the same program — from fabricating a 120lb shooter robot to coaching autonomous swerve strategy — is a complete arc.
